LADARVision Excimer Laser
LADARVision® has the broadest range of approvals of any FDA-approved excimer laser and makes it the only one capable of treating all types of refractive errors including nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
LADARVision®, powered by radar technology developed for NASA, was the first FDA-approved system with active eye tracking that ensures accurate placement of the small-spot laser. Although other laser systems have since developed eye-tracking systems, LADARVision® is the only one using laser radar- tracking technology, a system that measures eye movement 4,000 times per second and is capable of following involuntary eye movements, regardless of how rapid or erratic they may be.
Many doctors believe that the LADARVision® system with its LADARTracker™ is ideal for treating farsightedness and astigmatism since correction for these vision problems requires longer laser treatment times. During these longer treatments, the LADARVision® eye tracker accurately follows eye movement.

LADARVision® features a unique small-spot laser beam (less than one millimeter in diameter) that offers micron-size reshaping of the cornea that results in an extremely smooth surface. LADARVision’s® ability to use a larger optical zone for treatments minimizes potential night time side-effects of glare, halos and starbursts. This feature is most important for patients with large pupils.

LADARTracker™ improves the accuracy of corneal shaping.
The LADARVision ® 4000 Excimer Laser works in conjunction with the LADARWave® CUSTOMCORNEA® system. First, our doctors create a three-dimensional map of the eye’s unique distortions using the LADARWave® CUSTOMCORNEA® system. Then, using the LADARWave® CUSTOMCORNEA® system to guide the LADARVision ® 4000 Excimer Laser, our doctors target and remove tissue and precisely reshape the cornea.
