Types of LASIK Surgery Offered: At Laser Eye Center, we believe it is in the best interests of our patients to offer them a choice in their laser vision correction surgery. Every patient has a unique set of needs and visual goals, and by offering a variety of laser vision correction procedures, we can serve a broader range of people. We evaluate every patient individually and recommend the procedure we feel best benefits them.
In addition to traditional LASIK, we perform:
- Custom LASIK – helps reduce or eliminate both lower order and higher order aberrations. Innovative wavefront technology is used to capture information and create a customized map of the eye’s unique imperfections. This map is then used to calibrate the laser.
- Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) – similar in nature to LASIK, but does not require the creation of a corneal flap. It is a great option for individuals that do not qualify for conventional LASIK.
- All-Laser LASIK – enhances the safety and precision of traditional LASIK by eliminating the need for handheld instruments. Instead, a laser is used for both critical procedural steps: creating the corneal flap and reshaping the corneal tissue.
Patients with nearsightedness that do not qualify for laser vision correction surgery also have the option to have Verisyse lenses implanted to restore clear vision.
