Custom LASIK
Custom LASIK is an improvement on the already proven effective procedure known as LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keromileusis), a laser vision correction treatment designed to reduce your dependence on corrective eyewear and significantly enhance your eyesight. Using state-of-the-art laser technology such as the CUSTOMWave® and CUSTOMCORNEA® system our LASIK surgeons can reshape the cornea to treat both lower and higher order visual aberrations. These include distortions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, as well as imperfections that cause glare, halos, shadows, and night vision. The Excimer Laser technology used at our LASIK facilities serving the Los Angeles and southern California region has the broadest range of FDA approvals for its type, and is capable of treating a range of refractive errors. With Custom LASIK, you can achieve a dramatic improvement in the way you see.

Some eye conditions or diseases may preclude you from being a Custom LASIK candidate; however, if you do not qualify, our team here at the Laser Eye Center can suggest a variety of effective alternatives. Contact us today for details.
The Custom LASIK Procedure:
After numbing your eyes with anesthetic drops, one of our Custom LASIK surgeons will direct the CUSTOMWave® CUSTOMCORNEA® system as it creates a 3-Dimensional map of your eyes. This allows precise determination as to the registration and alignment of your eye’s distortions, making it possible for our surgeon to guide the laser with pinpoint accuracy, reshaping the cornea and improving your vision. The entire procedure is completed very quickly, and your vision will start improving almost immediately.
Custom LASIK Recovery:
You should arrange for someone to take you home after the procedure because your vision will be slightly blurred from the medication used to protect your eyes. You may experience a small degree of discomfort over the next day; however, this can be alleviated with medication. Some patients experience light sensitivity, swelling, or tearing for a few days after the procedure. A follow-up exam at our facility should be scheduled the day after Custom LASIK treatment. Most patients are able to return to their normal daily routines one day after surgery; however, you should wait to drive until after your follow-up examination and our doctors give you the okay.
