LASIK

LASIK, Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, is one of the most popular, eye surgery choices for treating low-to-high levels of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. In LASIK, the surgeon uses a microkeratome, a metal-blade cutting instrument, and laser to permanently change the cornea’s shape and correct visual distortions. LASIK, which reduces or eliminates a person’s dependency on glasses or contact lenses, has quickly become the procedure of choice for most patients. They recover quickly, have fewer side effects and complications than with other methods of vision correction and often notice a significant improvement in their vision soon after surgery.

Custom LASIK

Custom LASIK combines two exciting technologies to reshape the cornea to reduce or eliminate visual distortions. Custom LASIK technology has the potential to improve how much and how well you can see as well as reduce the risks of post-LASIK complications. Unlike traditional LASIK, it treats both lower-order aberrations, distortions such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, and higher-order aberrations, imperfections that can cause night vision, glare, shadows and halos.

All Laser LASIK with Interlase

All Laser LASIK by IntraLase® is a leading-edge tool that relies solely on laser energy instead of the microkeratome, the metal-blade cutting instrument traditionally used in LASIK procedures. In All Laser LASIK, the surgeon uses the laser to create a hinged flap in the cornea then removes excess tissue underneath with an excimer laser. Once the flap is back in place, the reshaped cornea enables better vision.
